(coming soon)
Jon Husiar has been playing guitar for over 20
years now. Being inspired at an early age by
such unique players as Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray
Vaughan, Edward Van Halen and Steve Vai
without a doubt collectively helped Husiar
enable a persona of his own.
During Husiar’s tentative years he had the
absolute pleasure studying with such great
local guitar virtuosos as Michael Lummio and
Daniel Roque. Husiar also attended music
theory classes in school taught by now
Purdue University Professor Jay Gephart. All
had an enormous impact on Husiar evolving
ingeniously as a guitar player and as a
musician.
Shortly thereafter, Husiar acquired a
passion for the art of recording. Thus after
graduating high school, Husiar enrolled at
Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois to
further his studies in Sound Engineering.
There he studied the physics of sound among
other sound related courses and studies.
Throughout Husiar’s musical journey he has
shared his unpresumptuous soulfully-funky,
bluesy-rock style of zealous guitar playing
with countless bands and artists.
Being a veteran of the Chicago music scene
Husiar has had the pleasure to recorded with
and/or play alongside such great artists as
Carl Burnett (Robben Ford, Larry Carlton), Kenny Kinsey (The Kinsey Report, Ronnie
Baker Brooks), Philip Sayce (Melissa
Etheridge, Jeff Healey), Kent Van Der Kolk
(Danny McGuiness, Satya Graha), Jerry Porter
(Buddy Guy), Jay Will (Troy Petty, Teen
Alien), Scott Pazera (Veruca Salt, Rachel
Yamagata), Corey Dennison (Carl Weathersby,
Vital Support), Jon Matthews (Boxcar
Willy, Ramblin' Hearts) and Chicago's one
time premier
all original folk/rock act
Sticky Tongue Farm.
Husiar also had the
pleasure of working closely during session
work with one of the leading
producers/engineers in the Chicagoland area,
"The Colonel" Joshua Shapera (R. Kelly, Aaliyah, Bill Dickens, Sonia Dada, Disturbed
& Veruca Salt).
Jon Husiar has truly evolved as a guitarist
as well as a musician over his 20 year span.
By opening himself up to an array of
different music over these years, Husiar has
become a well rounded player in assortment
of genres. Although, Husiars true passion
unquestionably lies within the
soulfully-funky, bluesy-rock style he's been
significantly noted for.
At this time, Husiar is
currently
booking dates up and around the Midwest area with blues/funk/soul group
SugahTyme. In his spare time, Husiar continues to
work
on
his own original material
that features an array of talent that
will be soon released at a future date.
